Former MSc Chemistry student Marouane El Boujadayni has won the Nijbakker-Morra student award for his thesis! The award is a prize for students who have conducted excellent fundamental or applied cancer research during their research internship. Marouane receives this award for his research at the Lynch laboratory at Harvard Medical School. His research focused on studying nutrient absorption during T-cell activation. He synthesized click-response analogues of saturated fatty acids and a unique series of acylcarnines, with which he opened new possibilities for the study of cancer-related metabolic processes in immune cells.
Marouane graduated summa cum laude last October and is currently working on a PhD within the LIC.
