Students looking for more of a challenge in their master's programme can apply for extracurricular courses at the Honours Academy.
The Leiden Leadership Programme is a Dutch-taught Honours education of 20 EC for master’s students at Leiden University, Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University Rotterdam, focusing on leadership, co-operation and discovering their own qualities. For more information about the programme and the selection criteria, visit the Honours Academy website.
Honours Classes are advanced, small-scale classes that focus on complex academic and societal topics. These challenging topics require an interdisciplinary approach with guest lectures from different research specialisations. This approach, combined with the fact that each honours class is made up of students from all disciplines, means students get the opportunity to learn about other fields of study.
Students who complete a Master Honours Class receive an Honours Class certificate. Additionally, the class will be mentioned on the diploma supplement of the student’s master programme. Two Master Honours Classes are offered: Social Innovation in Action and Circular Economy. Classes run from November until April, and the registration deadline is at the end of September. More information can be found on the Honours Academy website.
