The schedule contains information on all the master's courses that are organised and scheduled by the Leiden Institute of Chemistry. For other bachelor's and master's schedules contact the coordinators of those programmes.

Live Room bookings

This tool can be used to book time slots in the LIC Master’s Kaltura Live Room. Students and supervisors can make a reservation to practice a presentation. A staff member always has to be present to start the Live Room. The link to the Live Room is available on BrightSpace.

Time slot durations are one hour. If a time slot is not visible in the tool below, it has already been booked. Time slots at 15.00 every day are not available, as the Live Room can be used by for Thesis Talks and Colloquia. See the agenda on the front page of this website for upcoming presentations.

Hybrid presentation setup instructions

A hybrid presentation option may be required to accommodate staff not on campus at this moment. Even when all staff is present on campus, a livestream is recommended to enable students to follow your presentation at home. The student is responsible for setting up the hybrid livestream. All lecture rooms in the Gorlaeus Building have a tripod with webcam and microphone. Follow this procedure:

  • connect the webcam to the computer from which you will present (laptop or PC in room)
  • log into the Kaltura Live Room with your personal account
  • ask one of the staff members to open the Kaltura Live Room and give you rights to share your screen
  • this staff member has to keep the Live Room open during the whole presentation, as the Live Room shuts down when only students and external viewers are present
  • adjust the webcam so you can be seen during presenting
  • share your screen or presentation window in the Live Room
  • share this invite link with external viewers: https://smart.newrow.com/#/room/izw-958
  • make sure all viewers in the Live Room mute their microphone (except you as presenter of course)
  • viewers in the Live Room can ask questions by unmuting their microphone. The audio is played via the laptop or PC the webcam is connected to. The viewers can expect a strong echo on their end, but the audio in the lecture room is satisfactory.
